Franklin Drive Thru Safari – Nyla’s Birthday Celebration Part One

img_0154

For my daughter’s eighth birthday I knew I wanted to do something she would enjoy. Every year I plan parties for her because her birthday is a big deal to her. My birthday is a big deal to me, so I’m sure that is where she got that from, lol.

Anywho, being that we are in a pandemic, I knew having a party would be out of the question. I knew whatever I planned for her birthday had to be as contactless as possible. I found out about the Franklin Drive Thru Safari in Franklin, Texas (a little outside of College Station, Texas) and knew I wanted to take her. At first, I wanted to just take her alone but knowing her I knew having friends come along would be even more special!!!

I am so glad we did invite friends because the adventures we experienced were amazing. This place was everything I imagined it to be. I am so glad we had family and friends with us to take in this experience along with us. Admission is $18, not including the animal feed. We drove thru the safari, fed all of the animals, and had so many great laughs. There was a huge variety of animals to see and I knew Nyla would love that because she loves animals, she was even able to name and identify at least 90% of them. Towards the end of the drive-thru, we got out of the car to feed giraffes, as they required different food and were not apart of the actual drive-thru portion.

We left Houston (Cypress area) at 9:30 am and arrived at the safari around 11 am. The drive overall is less than two hours away from Houston. I am we arrived at the safari when we did because, when we were leaving it was jammed packed! Upon our arrival, it wasn’t as busy, which made our trip even more enjoyable. We stayed for about 2-3 hours but it was worth it. You can stay all day if you want, but I think our time was served purposefully. I suggest if you are going with small children to not go alone, it’s very hands-on and you will definitely need assistance. You will also want to take videos and pictures to capture the moment. I definitely give Franklin Drive Thru Safari a 10/10, I cannot wait to go back! Enjoy the pictures and videos from our amazing experience!! 🙂
